Inner Focus Guild Charter
This document defines the guild's core values. These values are the basis for a set of rules and policies designed to project these values into our guild. While our rules may change to fit circumstance and new challenges, the core values do not. This document is not intended to define a concrete set of raiding rules, but instead is used as a guideline in generating them.
Inner Focus is a progression raiding guild dedicated to experiencing all of the raid content World of Warcraft has to offer. While competing with similar-minded guilds on our server and around the world, we strive to accomplish our goals in a three-night schedule by embracing efficiency and optimizing our time spent raiding.
Commonality
The guild exists to bring players with similar goals in play time, dedication, and end game goals together in a single cohesive group. Play styles, new members, and availability should be reflective of what benefits the group.
The most critical aspect of the guild is to have fun. Ultimately we play this game for pleasure and we must enjoy our time playing. While each player will extract their own satisfaction from different elements of the game, everyone should enjoy their time raiding with the guild. In order to succeed, the guild must share a long term vision of success. It is through experiencing these unique and challenging areas we find enjoyment.
A guild focused on end game content must define it's success not by the gear collected, but by the content experienced. How much of the game we see is more important than the gear we get. Gear is passing, experience is not.
Common play times are selected to maximize the window of availability of the players who wish to participate. The guild will focus on three required days of raiding. See the raid rules for more details on raid times.
Respect
When a player joins this group they are expected to support the guild, however, it is understood that no relationship is conflict free. Players are expected to be agreeable and supportive in public and to air disagreements in private, using the Leadership hierarchy to handle serious disputes. Part of this respect is not being disappointed if another class is luckier with drops than another class, being polite on Ventrilo, and generally not wasting the time of other players.
Inner Focus does not condone the sharing of accounts, as it is a direct violation of the EULA. We do recognize there are situations in which accounts are shared (spouses/siblings, for example), but we expect that anyone with whom the account is shared would uphold the reputation of both the character played and the guild name. Members will be expected to abide by a "one player, one toon" rule for all guild raids and events, and will also be expected to bear full responsibility for their characters' behavior, regardless of whom they allow to play them.
Players must also respect the guild itself and uphold our good reputation. Whenever speaking in public forums and public in-game chat, remember that everything you say and how you say it reflects the guild as a whole.
Commitment
Players are expected to commit to not only the raid, but to each other. This is done out of respect to the players, with the understanding that another players time is valuable as your own. A raid can only progress if it can build a stable set of good players. The constant re-equipping of player classes, due to churn or excessive main swapping slows raid progress and is contrary to the goals of the raiding guild.
The player is expected to post in the AFK forum as soon as the duration and starting time of the absence is known.
Players are expected to commit to their main character, and should avoid asking to bring alts when a dungeon no longer offers new loot for the main.
Switching mains is a dramatic and rare event. However, as normal fluctuations occur in class population, it is permissible to ask to switch mains to fill a recruiting hole. Permission to change mains must be unanimous by the guild officers, and would result in the starting DKP for the new player equal to the lowest DKP of the target class (unless the original character's DKP were already lower, in which case the original character's DKP would be used).
Leadership
Leadership is the act of showing other people the way. A leader must be able to coach, encourage, correct, and rejoice in those around him. More importantly, a leader must be open to receiving all those things. A leader should build trust, and work to make sure everyone is enjoying their play time. The role of the RL/GM is to make decisions and set an overall direction for the guild.
Transparency is the key component to trust. Whenever possible, decisions should be made in plain sight of everyone in the guild.
Should any problems arise during or outside of a raid, they should be brought to an officer's attention.
Decisions, judgments, and rule changes should be fully documented as soon as is feasible. It should be noted, however, that the middle of a difficult dungeon, under the stress difficult encounters provide, is rarely the right time for this to happen. While strategy and tactics for an encounters are always under refinement, changes to the more static procedures (such as a loot) are best left to be made at less stressful times. Loot rules are defined prior to the raid or event and should be strictly respected. Should any inequality be brought to light, it is the responsibility of the officers to stay after the raid and resolve the issue prior to logging out of the game. In any situation in which an officer vote is required, the Guild Leader shall only vote in case of a tie.

Recruitment and Membership
If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for membership (as described in the recruitment forums) and it is decided by the officers that we will bring them into the guild, they will begin their trial period. Even though they may be invited to the guild, their trial period does not begin until their first attended regularly scheduled raid.
The trial period will last no longer than fifteen (15) raids.
A maximum of three (3) non-attended raids can be excused during this trial period and the recruit will be subject to removal from the guild if it exceeds this number.
A recruit may also be removed from the guild at any time during this trial period if the officers agree that the recruit has inappropriate attitude problems or poor performance. If a recruit makes it to the end of their trial period, they will be promoted to Raid Member.
Couples who apply to the guild may ask to be considered a pair, and this is strongly encouraged for couples who raid together. The guild requires mature, dedicated players, regardless of age. We do not have a minimum age for our guild, but we do have a minimum maturity level.
Close friends and family are allowed entry into the guild, at the Casual rank. It should be made clear however, that the guild's focus is end game 25man progression and the guild's time and resources will be used to further this goal. Casual members are permitted to apply for a raiding status through normal procedures, though a spot is not guaranteed.
Conflict
Uncovered circumstances which are not explicitly defined by this and supporting documents are to left to the Guild Leader. These circumstances may lead to rule changes.
Rule Change Process
Any officer may purpose a rule change at anytime, as long an organized DKP raid is not in progress. The rule change shall voted on by officers and must be in unanimous agreement for the rule to be changed. The resulting change will be posted to all guild members.
